Electrical Fire Guts House in Pattaya and Seriously Injures 43-Year-Old Woman

Pattaya —

A house in Pattaya was destroyed by a reported electrical fire Sunday night, resulting in severe burns for a 43-year-old woman while her husband was fortunately unharmed.

The fire occurred at a wooden house on Soi Khao Talo 9 in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district. Pattaya firefighters received a report of a fire in the middle of the previous night, March 5th, and rushed to the scene.

Despite the authorities’ efforts, the fire quickly spread and consumed the entire house. The woman, identified later as Ms. Rattanaporn Chaihakit, 43, was trapped inside and suffered virtually 80% burns before she could be rescued. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The blaze was calmed after about one hour.

Rattanaporn was relying on a ventilator at a hospital, her 47-year-old husband Mr. Suthikun Rukkakul told The Pattaya News. The husband, who escaped the fire unharmed, believed that the cause of the fire might be an electrical fault.

Authorities are investigating the house to establish the exact cause of the fire.
