Pattaya —

A Russian tourist in Pattaya survived a motorbike accident after colliding her bike with a street railing, which catapulted her body into a roadside ditch. The woman refused to go to a hospital.

The tourist was aided by Sawang Boriboon rescuers around 2 AM today, March 5th, after her white PCX rammed into a street railing in Pattaya’s Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi.

The woman only identified as Ms. Lana, 46, was flung into a roadside ditch from the impact and suffered several bruises and head injuries. Blood was dripping down from her head, and she seemed intoxicated, the rescuers told The Pattaya News. However, the woman refused to be transferred to a hospital to have her wounds treated.

The woman was not tested for alcohol, although it was unclear why.

According to the rescuers’ statements, they encountered communication difficulties with the injured Russian tourist as she did not speak English. Fortunately, her Russian female friend drove by the accident scene and stopped to offer assistance. Despite their help, the injured tourist remained reluctant to seek medical attention and declined transportation to a hospital. Ultimately, the rescuers had to allow her to leave with her friend.

The condition of the injured woman is currently unknown.
