Large Motorcycle Theft Gang Busted in Pattaya

10 motorcycle thieves, including young kids, have been busted in Pattaya early this morning, March 1st.

Banglamung Police held a press briefing at 10:30 AM today to declare the arrests of 10 motorcycle theft suspects following a shocking discovery of five stolen motorcycles stashed in a forest a few days earlier.

According to police reports, the suspects included Mr. Anek Sandon, 40, Mr. Banphot Deemek, 37, Mr. Nachsiwarut Siriphan, 29, Mr. Yosakorn Ritsri, 22, Mr. Sahachoke Chai -Ngam, 22, and five male teenagers aged between 15-18 years old.

The ten suspects were arrested along with over 12 stolen motorcycles and one pickup truck. Pol. Maj. Gen. Kamphon Leelaprapaporn, chief of the Chonburi provincial police, disclosed to The Pattaya News that the major motorbike theft gang bust was a follow-up operation after the recovery of stolen motorbikes hidden in the forest of the Takhian Tia sub-district in the Banglamung district of Chonburi.

Shortly afterwards, Banglamung investigators were able to uncover the ten suspects’ hideout in the Eua Athon Nong Prue Village in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung.

The suspects are currently in police custody, pending legal action. Maj. Gen. Kamphon said the suspects intended to smuggle the stolen property across borders to countries surrounding Thailand for resale.
