Security Guard Disables CCTV System to Steal 8 iPads in Sattahip

A security guard turned thief turned off his workplace’s security camera system to steal 8 iPads worth 120,000 baht. The thief was arrested at his rental room in the Sattahip district of Chonburi.

Sattahip Police were notified of the missing iPads from employees at a company named Toyota Pattaya 1998 on February 20th. The company is located in the Sattahip district of Chonburi.

The police launched an investigation and found that the company’s security camera system had been disabled deliberately around the time when 8 Gen 7 Apple iPads went missing. The stolen devices were worth about 120,000 baht.

However, yesterday, February 23rd, the authorities were eventually able to pin down the prime suspect who happened to be a security guard of the company named Mr. Chokchai “Nueng” Sukree, 29. The not so cunning thief was arrested at his rental room and confessed he disabled his workplace’s CCTV system to steal the iPads around 7 AM on February 20th.

The stolen devices were found in the suspect’s room. He claimed that he intended to sell the iPads to use the proceed to pay his motorcycle mortgage. The dishonest security guard was taken into custody, pending further legal proceedings.
