Female Motorist Rear-Ends Truck on Chonburi Bypass and Dies

A 36-year-old woman fatally rammed into the back of a stationary truck on a Chonburi bypass yesterday, February 21st.

Chonburi rescuers traveled to assist a female motorist on a bypass in the Nong Mai Daeng sub-district, Mueang district, at 11:30 AM. The victim, Mrs. Sunan Samana, 36, suffered severe facial injuries after crashing her motorbike into a parked truck.

The rescuers provided first aid to the victim but to no avail. Her blue Honda Scoopy I was discovered fallen near the victim.

Police from the Mueang district later arrived at the scene to question the truck driver, 62-year-old Mr. Sanguan Saengrach. The driver said he parked his truck on the side of the bypass to withdraw money from an ATM. While he was about to drive off, the victim suddenly rear-ended him.

Police stated that the victim’s injuries could have been inflicted by shattered glass that was part of her motorcycle helmet. The glass was broken and injured the victim upon the collision, said police. The victim’s body was transported to a local hospital to await religious rites.
