Nong Nooch Pattaya Tropical Gardens Welcome 105th Elephant Infant

Pattaya —

The Nong Nooch Pattaya Tropical Gardens held religious ceremonies to welcome the 105th baby pachyderm named “Plai Dao Rung (the Rising Star)”.

On February 17th, the owner of Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens, Kampol Tansajja, invited Phra Khru Kasem Kittisophon, who serves as the abbot of Wat Samakkeebanpot, to perform the blessing and anointing rituals for Plai Dao Rung.

The 105th baby elephant of the garden and also the first jumbo of this year was born from the 21-year-old mother, Pang Nong May, and her 27-year-old mate, Plai Ning Nong, on February 10th.

Phra Khru Kasem wrapped a flower garland around Plai Dao Rung’s neck to celebrate her birth and wish her well-being and longevity.

The religious ceremonies were followed by a traditional dance and a cavalcade of 50 elephants lined up to form a guard of honor to welcome the infant.

Plai Dao Rung is being taken care of under special care from Nong Nooch veterinarians who reported that the baby is in excellent health.
