Dugong Carcass Found in Sattahip Bay

A carcass of a male dugong was discovered in a bay in Chonburi’s Sattahip district on Thursday, February 2nd.

Rescue workers and officials from the Sattahip Rare Marine Life Rescue Center recovered a small dugong carcass after being notified by residents around noon.

The dugong was male, with unknown age, size, or weight. His cause of death was also unknown, according to officials.

The carcass was transferred to a nearby hospital for an autopsy.
