Fisherman Suspected of Fainting Drowns in Knee-Deep Water in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A fisherman drowned in knee-deep water after reportedly having a blackout while looking for fish in Pattaya’s Banglamung district.

Sawang Boriboon rescue workers were informed of the incident at 10 PM yesterday, January 29th.

They rushed to the scene at a pond located deep into the woods on private land in Soi Nong Ket Yai 13 in the Nong Pla Lai sub-district.

The victim, Mr. Thanya Yossamu, had already been rescued from the water by his neighbor upon the rescuers’ arrival. The 33-year-old lost consciousness, so the rescue team provided him with life-saving CPR but were unable to bring him back. There were no sign of injuries on the victim’s body.

The Pattaya News asked the victim’s neighbor, Mr. Singhan Chumnak, about the incident. He stated that the victim’s wife asked him to help her look for her missing husband who went fishing but suddenly lost contact.

The neighbor found the victim’s sandals and phone on the bank of a pond. When he followed the victim’s traces, he discovered the victim floating upside down in knee-deep water.

Banglamung Police presumed that the victim may have suffered a blackout because he had a few drinks before leaving his house. However, the victim’s body would be autopsied to clarify the exact cause of death at a local hospital.
