Pattaya —

A foreigner was saved by Jomtien Beach lifeguards and rushed to a local hospital after nearly drowning.

The unidentified tourist was spotted drowning and dragged out of the sea by lifeguards in front of Soi 13’s entrance in the Banglamung district at 3 PM yesterday, January 24th.

The male tourist passed out, so the heroic lifeguards had to examine his body and found that his airway was blocked by water.

The lifeguards then cleared the blockage before performing CPR and handed him over to the Sawang Boriboon rescuers for transport to Banglamung Hospital.

The local media asked one of the lifeguards, Mr. Thongchai Thiangcharoen, about the incident. He said that he was on duty at Jomtien Beach when a group of foreign tourists rushed to tell him that they found one foreigner losing consciousness in the sea.

Mr. Thongchai stated that he immediately contacted the rest of his team to rescue the tourist. He also revealed that the tourist’s pulse returned after his team performed CPR on him.

The tourist’s nationality and identity are unknown as of press time.
