Pattaya —
A woman was found dead at the bottom of a pond in Soi Chaiyaphonwithi 21 in Banglamung district last night, January 23rd.
The victim’s 26-year-old son, Mr. Thammarong Khemram, informed the Sawang Boriboon rescue workers of his mother’s disappearance at 8:30 PM.
He told the rescuers that his mother, Mrs. Amnuay Khemram, had gone missing from her house at 11 AM. The 49-year-old mother was nowhere to be found until Mr. Thammarong recalled that his mother once before walked into the pond located in Soi Chaiyaphonwithi 21 in the Nongprue subdistrict.
His mother nearly drowned at that time but was fortunately assisted by a Good Samaritan, the son said, adding his mother told him she heard a voice telling her to walk into the pond.
Mr. Thammarong then asked the rescuers to search the pond where they found a pair of the victim’s shoes on the bank. The son stated that his mother could not swim but was certain she had descended into the pond.
The search in the water began and after about one hour, the victim’s body was found sunken at the bottom of the pond.
No sign of foul play was discovered on the victim’s body, according to an initial police investigation.
The victim’s body was transferred to Banglamung Hospital for further examination. Her son was devastated by his loss.
