German ex-pat killed in car accident in Pattaya, his young son survives

A German expat was killed while driving home with his kid in Pattaya at 10 AM this morning, December 25th. His young son miraculously survived with minor injuries.

The accident occurred while the victim, whose name has been withheld pending embassy and family contact, a 62-year-old German national, and his young son were driving home on Sukhumvit Road near a U-turn in the Banglamung district of Chonburi. The victim was suspected to have blacked out at the wheel due to a medical emergency and crashed into a power pole.

Sawang Boriboon rescued the victim from his bronze Honda Jazz sedan registered in Chiang Mai. The left side of his car’s bumper was completely destroyed. The victim was unconscious and later passed away while on a journey to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

The victim’s son, whose name was withheld due to his age, sustained only a few scratches. He told The Pattaya News that he lived alone with his dad in Pattaya and had relatives in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Pattaya police are trying to contact the victim’s son’s relatives to inform them about the tragic accident as of press time.
