UPDATE: Cost of Phuket ferry fire damage estimated at ten million baht

The cost of damages is estimated at more than 10 million baht after a ferry fire at Koh Sirey, Rassada.

Our previous story:

A fire has damaged a ferry parked at a pier on Sirey Island, Mueang Phuket yesterday morning (December 11th).

Now for the update:

The owner of the ferry, Mr. Nikorn Tormaitree, told the Phuket Express that yesterday, December 11th, staffers were cleaning the pier when the fire started. They saw smoke coming out from the ferry. At this stage ferry management thinks it was an accident.

The exact cause of the fire is being investigated by the Forensic Police and the Phuket Marine Office. The cost of damages is being estimated at more than 10 million baht.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire although videos of the blaze went viral on social media, including our own HERE.
