Thailand week in review: Health Minister disagrees with 4 AM nightspot closing, 10 Million tourists celebration, and more

  1. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said he disagreed with allowing nightspots in certain tourism spots to stay open until 4 AM because it could spread Covid-19.                                                                                                                                            He stated that closing at 2 AM was already appropriate for the nightlife sector. However, the minister added that he was willing to respect the majority in the cabinet.
  2. Tens of thousands of people are expected to travel domestically using buses during the upcoming three-day holiday weekend from December 10th to 12th, according to the state-run Transport Co Ltd.

Sanyalak Panwattanalikhit, managing director of the Transport Company, said that the Transport Company has about 3,000 trips to facilitate travelers.

3. More than 12,000 tourists joined in the Full Moon party on Pha-Ngan Island in Surat Thani.

This was the last night of the Full Moon Party for the last full moon this year.

4. Thai PM chairs “Amazing Thailand 10 Million Celebrations” at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Thailand reached their 2022 international arrivals target today, 10 December, with celebrations held at key airports and border checkpoints to welcome passengers arriving in the kingdom on the momentous day.

5. A Thai female taekwondo expert won in the Riyadh 2022 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final in Saudi Arabia.

Tennis and Italian Simone Alessio won top prizes at the World Taekwondo’s 2022 Gala Awards. Both won Grand Prix titles and followed up with Female Athlete of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year.
