Bangkok –

A fire broke out in a small area in the Central World shopping mall in Bangkok this afternoon. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at about 4:00 P.M. today (November 3rd). Smoke was billowing out of a small part of the mall. Hundreds of shoppers were quickly evacuated from the shopping mall by security guards, firefighters, and mall staff.

At 5:00 P.M. the fire was finally placed under control by teams of quick-responding firefighters. No injuries or deaths were reported.

At this stage, investigating firefighters believe that the fire started from an electric short circuit in small light bulbs which are used to decorate a Christmas tree inside the shopping mall. However, the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Forensic Police and investigators cautioned the public not to immediately jump to conclusions.

This is a still-developing story and will be updated if more info is released.
