Woman arrested in Pattaya over an alleged 30 million baht investment scam

Pattaya –

A young woman was arrested in Pattaya after multiple victims allegedly lost more than 30 million baht in an investment scam.

The Crime Suppression Division Police, or CSD, told TP์N media that they have arrested Ms. Patcharee Maneesri, 24, at a condominium in Pattaya following an arrest warrant from the Loei Provincial Court for fraud and a loan scam imported into a computer system.

The arrest came after police found that Ms. Patcharee was allegedly part of a larger loan shark network. She essentially persuaded victims to invest with her and she claimed they would get much higher returns for low risk and no work needed.

Numerous victims invested with her although the CSD did not release names or the exact number of the alleged victims. More than 30 million baht was generated in the investments for Patcharee, stated the CSD. However, she allegedly did not pay any returns whatsoever to her investors and vanished. This led to many victims in different provinces, such as Loei, to file police reports against her.

Ms. Patcharee has denied all accusations and claims she is innocent. She was taken back to the Na Din Dam Police Station in Loei for further legal action.
