Mueang district, Chonburi —

A 24-year-old food delivery rider passed away in a horrific collision reportedly with a truck on Wednesday, November 23rd.

The accident took place in front of the Bangkok Komatsu Company in the Khlong Tamru subdistrict of Chonburi’s Mueang district.

Chonburi rescuers responded to the accident around noon after receiving a call from the victim’s fellow workers. The victim, identified as Mr. Tawan Pinsuwan, 24, lay lifelessly on the road with serious head injuries. The rescuers pronounced him dead at the scene before transporting his body to a local hospital.

Tawan’s friends told Mueang police that Tawan was hit and crushed by a truck while riding his motorbike on the road. The truck driver, Arun Jokkratok, 38, was waiting at the scene to give his statement.

Arun claimed to the police, however, that he did not hit Tawan nor run over him, though the victim was reported to be wearing a motorcycle helmet, which, according to the rescuers, had been crushed before they arrived.

Arun claimed another vehicle ran over the victim and killed him and then fled the scene.

Mueang police were examining CCTV footage to find the exact vehicle that hit and fatally crushed the victim.
