Young Russian man jumps to his death at Pattaya hotel in front of shocked tourists following argument with girlfriend

Pattaya-

A 33-year-old Russian man reportedly on holiday with his Russian girlfriend plunged to his death from the eighth floor of a popular Pattaya hotel this afternoon in front of many shocked staff and tourists, landing in the crowded lobby.

The incident happened at around 5:00 P.M. at a hotel on Pratumnak Soi 5, whose exact name has been withheld pending a further investigation by Pattaya Police.

The incident was personally responded to by Pattaya Police Chief Kunlachart Kunlachai and his team. Upon arrival they found the young Russian man lying heavily injured but alive in the lobby. He had suffered multiple broken bones and other severe injuries. His name has been withheld pending contact of his embassy and family.

Sawang Boriboon rescue teams quickly arrived and transported the critically injured Russian man to a local hospital. Tragically, he passed away shortly after arriving.

Hotel staff told The Pattaya News the victim was a Russian man on holiday with his Russian girlfriend. He and his Russian girlfriend got into a loud verbal argument in front of the door to their room on the eighth floor, which has a balcony overlooking the lobby. The argument escalated to shouting which drew attention of people nearby but as nobody spoke Russian the nature of the argument was unclear.

After a period of time of shouting, according to hotel staff, the Russian man suddenly climbed over the balcony railing and jumped to his death, landing in the lobby below in front of shocked staff and tourists. His girlfriend immediately fled via a fire escape and as of press time Pattaya police were still searching for her.

Pattaya Police Chief Kunlachart Kunlachai stated to the press that CCTV would be reviewed and they would find the victim’s girlfriend to question her about the incident. The relatives of the victim and his embassy were being contacted.
