UPDATE: Details of Chonburi high-ranking police officer accused of swapping crime suspects with scapegoats revealed

The Thai national police chief revealed the details of the Chonburi Provincial Police Commissioner who was charged for allegedly swapping the suspects in a pool villa shooting case with scapegoats in exchange for bribery.

The Chonburi Provincial Police Commissioner has been transferred to an inactive post and charged for allegedly swapping the real suspects with scapegoats in a pool villa shooting case in Pattaya on October 18th, according to assistant national police chief Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachat Hakparn.

Now for our update:

National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Damrongsak Kittipra demoted the suspected Chonburi Provincial Police Commissioner Pol. Maj. Gen. Kitthanate Thanananthavisin to an inactive post pending an investigation into his involvement with a pool villa shooting case in Chonburi on October 18th.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Kitthanate was accused of swapping the shooters who were being hunted by police with scapegoats in exchange for a million baht bribe, the police chief stated.

On November 14th, Pol. Lt. Gen. Itthipol Ittisarn-ronnachai, Commander-in-Chief of the Police Region Two, appointed Pol. Maj. Gen. Nuntawut Suwanlaong, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Police Region Two, to replace Kitthanate as acting Chonburi Provincial Police Commissioner.

The suspected officer is under close monitoring at the Royal Thai Police Office.
