The driver, Mr. Thanawat Phimlekha, was rescued by Sawang Boriboon rescuers and Banglamung police at 7 AM this morning, November 5th, after his white Toyota Vios rammed into a parked sedan, a motorcycle, and then a power pole.

The accident happened in the Naklua sub-district of Banglamung, Chonburi. Mr. Thanawat was freed from his car wreckage and sustained no injuries. Rescuers quickly put out a fire that broke out on the damaged transformer. One unidentified person was hit and suffered minor scrapes.

The sedan driver, Ms. Pimchanok Mitchell, told The Pattaya News she was driving on Sukhumvit Road when Thanawat suddenly crashed into her from the back and then went straight into the power pole, slightly hitting the unnamed pedestrian.

Thanawat did not give any statement to the press. Banglamung police suspected he might have experienced a blackout due to his age. The police will question him later as Thanawat agreed to visit a hospital for a checkup.
