Chonburi —
A 41-year-old woman sustained seven stab wounds around her body after she was stabbed by a male robber at a Chonburi laundromat yesterday, October 28th. The suspect was arrested, according to a recent report.
The woman identified only as Ms. Chonthicha was washing her clothes alone at an unnamed laundromat on the side of Nartmontasewi Road at 5:30 PM, according to CCTV footage.
The suspect, dressed in shorts and a black T-shirt, pulled over his motorcycle in front of the shop and looked around to see if there were any other customers besides Chonthicha.
When seeing none, the suspect pulled out his knife and went for the victim from behind, choking her with his left arm while pointing the blade at the victim’s throat with his right hand.
The security camera caught the moment when the victim tried to wiggle her way out of the suspect’s chokehold but then got stabbed seven times in the back, throat, and head. The suspect fled the scene immediately, leaving Chonthicha lying in a pool of blood.
The laundromat was located in the Samed subdistrict of Mueng district, Chonburi. The victim survived the stabbing and was transported to Chonburi Hospital, according to Samed police.
Her father, 66-year-old Mr. Wanchai (last name withheld), told police that his daughter was a good person and never had a conflict with anybody. He said his daughter called him for help after the suspect escaped.
Then, the suspect identified by police as Mr. Nathakorn Tarawut, 29, was apprehended last night with the clothes he wore while attacking the victim. Initially, he claimed that he just got angry after arguing with the victim and did not mean to stab her.
Nathakorn is in Samed police custody as of press time.
