UPDATE: More suspects in Pattaya pool villa shooting arrested, victims turn out to be involved with drugs, “Big Joke” says

Pattaya —

10 suspects including shooters, scapegoats, and accomplices have been nabbed over a shooting at a pool villa in Pattaya on October 18th. The assistant national police chief, or “Big Joke,” said the suspects and the victims may have been involved with a drug cartel as he found illegal substances in the victims’ bodies.

Our previous story:

Another three suspects in a shooting at a Pattaya pool villa were apprehended after they allegedly hired two scapegoats to surrender themselves to Pattaya police.

Now for our update:

Assistant national police chief Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachat Hakparn, Pattaya police chief Pol. Col. Kunlachart Kunlachai, and other relevant officers held a press conference this morning, October 24th, to update on all the arrests for the Pattaya pool villa shooting.

As of press time, 10 suspects have been arrested, according to Big Joke. Six are the shooters, two are the hired scapegoats, and the other two are the accomplices. They are in Pattaya police custody currently. However, Big Joke said the victims, who were initially believed to be regular Thai tourists, may actually have been connected with a drug cartel after all.

Big Joke added that he discovered illegal substances in the victims’ bodies, though he did not reveal the identity of that individual or the exact drugs. The victims were charged, and it is possible that everyone involved in this saga may have something to do with a drug cartel, according to the assistant national police chief.

Pattaya police chief Kunlachart said he would expand the investigation to tear down this entire illegal network. The case was about 80% finished, and another press conference would be held this Friday to give an update.
