Pattaya, Thailand-

An exploding manhole cover damaged a baht bus and scared several Pattaya drivers today, October 22nd, as relevant authorities pledge to investigate what caused the cover to fly five meters into the air.

The incident took place just before 2:00 P.M. today, Saturday, October 22nd, on Sukhumvit road near a Shell gas station and Moo 6 in Pattaya.

A manhole cover exploded five meters into the air and landed on a baht bus, but no injuries were reported.

The driver of the baht bus, 55-year-old Winai Amcharoen, said he was in shock from the incident but was lucky to have not been injured. Winai stated to The Pattaya News that he smelled gas and saw white smoke coming from the manhole after the incident.
