Pattaya —

Pattaya Mayor Poramase Ngampiches said he is planning to change the traffic plan on Sukhumvit Road in Naklua to facilitate a drainage system construction project.

The mayor had discussed with Banglamung police and decided to close three intersections, including Sawangfa, Chiayapornwithi, and Sian Sue Chinese Shrine, to facilitate a drainage system construction project that has just entered its first phase. To alleviate traffic, two U-turns have been set at the Esso gas station and Naklua Park at Maryvit School.

However, there are still many complaints about this plan, and Poramase stated that he is doing his best to find the right solution. One of the ideas is to reopen the intersections on weekdays, according to him, but this still requires advice from Banglamung traffic police and opinions from motorists.

Poramase added that the current plan worked effectively during the past four-day long weekend as no severe traffic congestion occurred on Sukhumvit Road in the Naklua area.
