Large amount of heroin smuggled in parcel from Cambodia seized at Suvarnabhumi Airport

A large amount of 7,210 grams of heroin was seized at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Monday, October 17th, after they were reportedly smuggled in postal parcels at the Suvarnabhumi Airport Cargo Clearance Customs.

The parcel was reportedly sent from Cambodia and was attempting to pass through Thai Customs before being sent off to the final destination in Taiwan, Deputy Spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek revealed to the press. The value of the heroin was worth about 21 million baht in value.

The confiscation was conducted under the cooperation of the Thai Customs and the Narcotics Interdiction on Postal and Express Consignment to monitor drug smuggling through customs and postal channels.
