1. About 16 provinces across Thailand suffering from severe flooding due to constant rains caused by ‘NORU’ storm since last weekend
As heavy rains constantly battered the country, flooding was continuously reported in most parts of Thailand since the beginning of October. At least 16 provinces were suffering from the flash floods last week and the situation is also reportedly worsening in some areas, Ubon Ratchathani – for instance, at the beginning of this week. Some household were forced for evacuation while local authorities in affected provinces were providing urgent assistance to its residents as much as possible while attempting to accelerate the drainage systems.
2. Thailand to enter winter season at the end of October, Thai Meteorological Department reports
The Thai Meteorological Department states that the cold weather will officially come to Thailand at the fourth week of October. The coldest period will be between December 2022 and the end of January 2023. Bangkok may experience the coldest of 17 degrees celsius in the inner city and 15 degrees celsius in the suburbs. In the mountain areas, the average minimum temperature is about 8-15.9 degrees celsius.

3. At least 30 people killed, including children, in mass shooting at childcare center in Nong Bua Lamphu this afternoon, assailant reportedly commits suicide
One of the most tragic events with a large number of reported deaths, including children, in Thailand’s history. A total of 38 casualties of parents, teachers, and young children were reported. The assailant, who was an former policeman with access to weapons, also killed his family members and committed suicide afterward. The country mourned the victims of the massacre. Their majesties the King and Queen, the Prime Minister, and other government officials also visited the province on the following day to express their condolences and provide physical and mental assistance to the families of the victims.
