Bangkok –
An English national, Mark Kirkham, was captured at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Thursday, October 6th, following an arrest warrant for allegedly operating a securities company in the Kingdom without a license.
The arrest of the 57-year-old foreigner was conducted after alleged victims had filed complaints to the The Securities and Exchange Commission, claiming that the foreign CEO of PFS International Consultants reportedly invited them into a foreign fund investment and promised a return of 7-11 percent.
However, when the contract ended, the investment could not be redeemed, causing damage totaling more than 40 million baht. The company was reportedly shut down afterward.
The officials then began the investigation and requested for an arrest warrant from the Southern Bangkok Criminal Court on December 22nd, 2021, before the police of the Economic Crime Suppression Division conducted the arrest on Wednesday.
The suspect has pled not guilty to all charges as of press time.
