Pattaya police continue strict patrols to ban beach drinking, carrying weapons, and prostitution

Pattaya —

Stringent patrols by Pattaya police were carried out yesterday, October 3rd, to prevent people from drinking alcohol on Pattaya Beach, carrying weapons, and engaging in alleged prostitution, which the officers said would keep people safe.

A combined team of police officers, volunteers, and immigration officers were deployed on Pattaya Beach at 9 PM by the police chief of the Pattaya police station, Pol. Col. Kunlachart Kunlachai, to preserve peace and keep beachgoers both domestic and foreign alike safe, following many recent harmful activities over the past week.

Pol. Col. Kunlachart had recently returned to his office and immediately got back to work after being demoted to an inactive post.

The team scattered around the beach and randomly checked on suspicious individuals who lingered under the trees to prevent alleged prostitution. The officers also targeted groups of teenagers who might have been carrying weapons, illegal drugs, or drinking alcohol.

As a result, a certain number of individuals were taken to the police station to have their identities recorded so that they could be easily tracked, according to Kunlachart.

“We want to establish trust. Tourists should feel safe whenever they come to the beach. I urge those who unfortunately encounter illegal activities to contact the police for an immediate response,” the police chief told The Pattaya News.
