Rayong Province —

A night-long downpour last night, September 26th, has left several parts of Rayong province inundated.

The 36 bypass road in the Thap Ma subdistrict of Mueang district in Rayong was submerged by floodwaters that reached about 50 centimeters high, leaving only one lane passable and causing traffic congestion all night long until this morning, according to local media.

Many Rayong highway officials had to come out early to direct traffic and drain water using pumps. Some officials had to help citizens push their cars because the engines broke down from driving on the flooded roads.

Meanwhile, many areas in the Rayong municipality were deluged, especially Chantha Udom Road and the Rayong – Bann Khai road where the water hit 30 cm high.

Rayong Star Fresh Market was also affected by the overnight rain, though not as severely as other areas, for people could still carry on with their daily lives.
