Pattaya’s Sawang Boriboon rescue foundation organizes opening ceremony of Vegetarian Festival on Sunday

Pattaya, Chonburi –

The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation has organized a lamp lighting ceremony to mark the beginning of the Vegetarian Festival on Sunday, September 25th.

Foundation director Prasit Thongtitcharoen along with the board members joined the lamps’ lighting ceremony as a part of the traditional opening of the Vegetarian Festival 2022 which is held between 25 September and 5 October this year.

According to the Chinese belief, the ceremony is believed to summon the gods and the goddess in the sky to bless humans with good fortune and dispel all the bad things in life.

The Sawang Boriboon Foundation also organized free vegetarian food in front of the foundation for the public to enjoy while encouraging participants to abstain from killing animals and consuming meat throughout the festival. Merchants were also gathering and selling vegetarian food at the foundation’s booths after a one-year halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
