The two suspects who were siblings were nabbed at a hotel on Petchkasem Road in the Bang Wa subdistrict of Phasi Charoen district in Bangkok after conspiring to steal money worth 3.4 million baht on Wednesday.

Pol. Maj. Gen Itthiporn Phothong, Deputy Commissioner of the Provincial Police Region 2, stated yesterday that Ms. Praphaporn “Bee” Boonmeesanom (the older sister) and Mr. Jatuphon “M” Boonmeesanom (the younger brother) were charged with colluding to rob using a gateway vehicle and causing harm to others.

The two suspects admitted to their crime while going through a reenactment, saying they were deep in debt from investing in cryptocurrency, according to police reports. After they got the money, they bought two iPhone 14s and necessary items to facilitate their escape but failed and got caught at a hotel in Bangkok.

During the press conference, Mrs. Waraporn Boonmeesanom, the 58-year-old mother of the two suspects, visited the Ban Bueng police station to see her children. She wailed and said to the press that her daughter was a good person, but her son was stubborn and might have persuaded her daughter to commit such a crime.

Many netizens applauded Ban Bueng police for quickly apprehending the suspects after only one day.
