A 47-year-old man was killed after his pickup truck crashed and overturned while reportedly trying to overtake another truck.
Phan Thong police and rescue services rushed to Soi 3 in the Nong Tamlueng subdistrict of Phan Thong district in Chonburi after being notified of a man who was killed in a car accident yesterday, September 22nd.

Police found an overturned Isuzu D-max pickup truck on the road with a crumpled front bumper. The victim, Thira Suanmali, a 47-year-old Ayutthaya native, was found trapped inside the car, having sustained multiple serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Phan Thong police.

An unnamed witness told police that the victim was racing with another black pickup truck when he attempted to overtake the truck but failed and rammed into a wall. The other truck then sped away, leaving the deceased victim behind.
Witnesses at the scene reported smelling alcohol on the victim’s body, but this needed to be investigated further by police. Initially, Phan Thong police said they would review CCTV cameras around the scene to determine if the other driver caused the man to crash or not.
