Pattaya —

Pattaya Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn visited Soi Paniadchang to inspect the wheelchair lane that was blocked by vehicles, following multiple complaints from disabled people.

After the pictures of a completely blocked wheelchair lane went viral on Thai and English social media, a group of Pattaya police, Pattaya media, and officials led by Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn went to inspect the scene today, September 22nd, to talk with the residents and representatives from “The Touch” condo, which reportedly let the tenants park on the blue lane.

Wuthisak said the condo representatives promised to cooperate with the officials, but he added if the tenants still ignored the law and parked their vehicles on the lane, Pattaya police would have to take serious measures by clamping or towing the vehicles to the police impound for a fine.

The deputy and police also left warning notes on the vehicles, which read “Please don’t park on the blue lane, handicapped only.”
