As a temporary solution, the mayor stated that he has assembled a team of city workers to monitor the flooding around the clock in order to respond to a flood report in a timely manner. At the same time, he directed his subordinates to clean the clogged sewers surrounding the sub-district in order to improve drainage.

According to the mayor, flooding in the Nong Pla Lai subdistrict was quickly subdued because the sub-district had effective water management that quickly drained the flood waters to the sea.

However, the mayor still urged citizens to remain wary of flash floods. If seeing any, he advised calling 038-170667, manned 24 hours a day.
