Sri Racha —
A pickup truck driving through heavy rain in Sri Racha skidded and plowed into a street railing, severely injuring two people.
Sawang Prateep rescue personnel received a report of a traffic accident with two people sustaining serious injuries on the Motorway Road in Sri Racha early this morning, September 8th.
The rescue team arrived at the scene around 3.45 A.M. to find two Thai victims and an overturned black Toyota Hilux Revo pickup truck in the middle of the road. The first victim, Mr. Sunthorn Deethien (35), reportedly flew out of his car after plowing into a street railing and passed out on the road, according to police reports.
Meanwhile, the second victim, Ms. Ratchachaporn Satchapong (31), was found unconscious inside the crumpled truck. They both suffered serious injuries and were hurried to a hospital.
Pol. Lt. Col. Phu Decha from the Khao Kheow highway police station responding to the accident said that the driver may have driven at high speed before skidding and crashing into a street railing. Sri Racha was also pounded by heavy rainfall early this morning, so this might attribute to the crash, the police stated.
Both victims were at a hospital, receiving medical treatment as of press time. Sri Racha police said they would check CCTV cameras to find the exact cause of the crash.
