Chonburi –
The cause of death of a seven-year-old female student found in her Chonburi school bus was being examined and presumably was heatstroke, the Secretary of the Justice Ministry revealed on Tuesday, September 6th.
Thanakrit Jitareerat, the aforementioned secretary, revealed to the press after meeting with the Chief of Forensic Medicine at the Police Hospital that no abnormalities were found in the initial autopsy results nor the premises indicating murder or physical harm.
The secretary said: “No traces of rape were found. No broken teeth or bruises as well. Her physical stated that every part of her body was normal.”
The unofficial autopsy result rather indicates the cause of death as heatstroke or excessive body heat, the secretary added.
Dr. Sarawut Rachasrimuang, one of the experts and observance team members, further explained the symptoms of heatstroke in that children are more likely to die from heatstroke than adults because children are less resistant to heat. If heatstroke had occurred while the child was sleeping, children could suffer from brain symptoms, seizures, unconsciousness, and organ failure.
Meanwhile, The Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) on Thursday, September 1st, set up an investigation committee to examine school personnel, teachers, and staff involved in the tragic death of a seven-year-old female student who was found dead inside a school bus/van of a Chonburi private school on Tuesday.
