Foreign driver killed in sedan-pickup collision in Chonburi

Pong subdistrict, Chonburi —

An unidentified foreign driver was instantly killed when his sedan collided with a pickup truck in the Pong subdistrict.

Pattaya Sawang Boriboon rescue workers arrived at a fatal road accident scene in Pong subdistrict of Banglamung at late night yesterday, September 3rd, to assist a foreign man who suffered serious injuries in a car crash.

According to reports, the victim was driving a black Nissan sedan, which veered out of its lane and crashed into a black Nissan Navara pickup truck of a Thai couple namely Sanoh Phosrithong, 68, and Nuart Chans, 66.

The couple was safe and sound, but the foreign driver who still could not be identified as of press time was pronounced dead on the spot due to his injuries. Nuart who rode in the pickup truck said that the deceased driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel as he suddenly crossed the lane and crashed into her.

Pattaya police said they would review CCTV footage to find the exact cause of the accident.
