The Thai Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education urged relevant authorities to investigate and seek responsible personnel for the tragic case of a seven-year-old student who was found dead inside a school bus (van) at a local school in Phan Thong district of Chonburi on Tuesday, August 30th.

The body of the female student, whose name was withheld due to our editorial policy, was found lying face down inside the school bus on Tuesday evening around 4:00 PM. with bleeding in her mouth.

According to school staff, the bus stopped to drop the children off at the school entrance. After seeing that they all got off the bus, a driver then drove and parked the bus at the school’s parking lot and waited to pick up the children after school.

However, when they opened the bus door in the evening, the child was found lying in the bus and did not respond. When approaching her, it was found that the child was not breathing.

The body was transferred to the Police Hospital Forensic Institute for an autopsy while related teachers, drivers, and school staff were summoned to the police station for interrogation.

The Permanent Secretary also stated that the driver and the assisted teacher on the school bus must be responsible for the incident as they were neglecting their duties to look after all students before and after getting on and off the bus.
