Two young people trapped inside elevator in Pattaya hotel for half an hour

Pattaya —

Two young people were trapped inside a hotel’s elevator in Pattaya for half an hour.

Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue services rushed to Capital Hotel in the Nongprue subdistrict of Banglamung at 3.30 a.m. today, August 27th, to rescue two people who were trapped inside an elevator.

The elevator stopped working and got stuck between the third and fourth floors. Two young people namely Thakdanai, 16, and Kirana, 14, were trapped inside for half an hour. Police from the Pattaya Police Station who arrived before the rescue team could only manage to open the doors for 5 centimeters to let air in. Finally, it took about half an hour to liberate the two victims with the help of the rescue team.

The lucky friend of the two victims Thawatchai, 17, told police that the three of them visited Pattaya to enjoy the Pattaya Music Festival. After their strolls on the beach, they decided to return to the hotel. Thawatchai arrived at the elevator first, but it was not working, so he went for the stairs to get to their room on the fourth floor.

Thakdanai and Kirana, however, got onto the elevator, which somehow worked for a moment before it got stuck. They then called their friend in the room to contact police.

Pattaya police said they would inquire with hotel staff about the issue and have them place a warning sign before the elevator.
