Pattaya —

The mother of a 35-year-old drug addict son called Pattaya officials to arrest her son and put him in rehabilitation after her son went on a rampage and destroyed properties.

Wisitsak Wongvorachat, a Pattaya official from the Drug Addiction Treatment Department in Pattaya, and many social workers went to a house in the Naklua subdistrict of Banglamung today, August 18th, after being requested by a desperate mother to arrest her drug addict son and put him in rehabilitation.

The officials arrived to find the door of the house getting torn into pieces and several other damaged properties. The 35-year-old son Kraisri was discovered sleeping on an old mattress after wreaking havoc on the house, so the officials peacefully took him into custody and transported him to Banglamung Hospital for further medical procedures.

The mother, Jeam, whose real name was withheld by the authorities, said that her son was mentally unstable because he was once addicted to drugs. The son then received drug rehabilitation but skipped it for too long, causing his symptoms to exacerbate. The mother added that her son was also aggressive and once tried to hit her, but she could escape.

Wisitsak, who came to aid the mother, said her son still had to go through a medical process to determine if his rampage was driven by drugs or his mental disorder.
