19-year-old big bike rider killed after crashing into pickup truck in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A 19-year-old big bike rider was killed after crashing into the rear of a pickup truck in Pattaya last night, August 15th, 2022, around 8 PM.

Pol. Capt. Sanan Kotanon from the Pattaya Police Station went to check on a fatal traffic accident on Sukhumvit Road in the Nongprue subdistrict of Banglamung leading to Sattahip district.

The officer found a black and red Kawasaki Z300 bike lying near a street island and a bronze Toyota Vigo pickup truck with a broken tail light nearby. Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue workers who arrived earlier were performing CPR on Petcharat, the 19-year-old rider who sustained serious injuries and passed out after crashing into the rear of the pickup truck.

Petcharat whose last name was withheld by TPN, died shortly after from his injuries. The unknown driver driving behind him told the officer that he saw him driving at high speeds and colliding with the truck’s tail. Then, his body was flung into the air and slammed into a distance marker before slumping to the ground.

Officer Sanan had the victim’s body transported to Banglamung Hospital and would summon the truck driver for an interrogation. Reports later revealed that Petcharat was only a 19-year-old vocational student attending Sattahip Technical College.
