Pattaya Taxi driver beaten after allegedly trying to sexually abuse 20-year-old passenger

Pattaya —

A Pattaya Taxi driver was reportedly beaten by the big brother of a 20-year-old woman after she claimed that the driver tried to sexually abuse her while she sat alone in his car.

“Remember his face. This taxi driver carried a knife in his car. He pretended to be amicable, but then he tried to sexually abuse my younger sister. Be aware,” The message was reportedly posted on Facebook by the older sister of a 20-year-old female victim who claimed she had just escaped the most terrifying experience of her life.

The young victim living on Soi Pornprapanimit in the Nongprue subdistrict yesterday, August 3rd, explained to The Pattaya News about the day of the incident. According to her, she and her older brother and sister called for a taxi via a famous online taxi application to return home after a party. She recalled it was a yellow/blue car with a middle-aged driver named Saman.

The male driver seemed amicable while her brother and sister were in the car, the victim stated, but after a few minutes into a conversation, the driver suddenly flashed his knife and claimed that he always had one in his taxi to defend himself from intoxicated passengers.

Getting thirsty, the victim’s brother and sister asked the taxi driver to pull over at a convenience store and left to buy water. The victim said she was not feeling well and opted to wait in the car, but the driver then allegedly leaned in and kissed her all of a sudden. According to the victim, she had to suppress her fear and waited for her siblings to return, but in the meantime, the driver reportedly kept asking for her Line ID and phone number, making the wait feel interminable.

Finally arriving at their house on Soi Pornprapanimit, the young victim ran into his older brother’s arms and revealed her distress that she was sexually abused, the victim told The Pattaya News. Tan, the 22-year-old brother, then reportedly rushed back to the taxi driver who was about to leave, drubbed him, and recorded a video of his face, saying that he wanted to keep it for evidence, before letting the driver free.

All three siblings filed a report at the police station while the victim was still suffering from her traumatic experience, as of press time. “I want to warn everyone who likes to take an online taxi service to choose female drivers only,” The victim’s older sister told The Pattaya News “And always sit in the rear and be careful.”
