A naked foreigner with only a camera slung over his shoulder and a tiny waist bag shocked pedestrians in South Pattaya before getting arrested. The man might suffer from a mental illness, the police suspected.
Pol. Capt. Sontaya Khansub on a night shift at the Pattaya Police Station today, August 4th, received a bizarre report at midnight regarding a foreigner who was strolling down a crowded street in South Pattaya, wearing nothing except for a camera slung over his shoulder and a tiny waist bag.
The naked man stood tall and seemed to be from Europe, according to the officers. His bare body imposed panic among other pedestrians in South Pattaya, but he seemed unbothered by the staring eyes. In an attempt to negotiate, the officers circled him, but he reportedly spat at the officers and talked in circles.
After a long, peaceful talk, however, the man gave in and let the officers wrap his body to conceal his nudity before taking him to a police station.
As of press time, the officers said that they could neither identify the man’s nationality nor his name because they struggled to decipher his statements.
Though they suspected that he might suffer from a mental illness, so they let him wait at the station for his relatives or embassy to pick him up and identify him.
