Pattaya —

Street vendors restored liveliness at Na Jomtien Beach after they were allowed to open for business again but in a different space.

Local media reported yesterday, August 2nd, a lively atmosphere at Na Jomtien Beach with many beachgoers sitting on the breezy beach and lines of wanderers in front of street vendors, which were just back for business.

The vendors, who had been barred from setting up their stalls beside the beach with an arrest threat by Pattaya and Na Jomtien authorities on June 27th, had finally been able to reopen but at a new street market on the opposite side of Na Jomtien Beach in Soi Jomtien 16, just a short walk from the beach.

As promised by Pattaya authorities to find an optimal solution for the vendors affected by the ban, the vendors are now allowed to sell in this market from 5 PM to 11 PM every day without having to cram on the sidewalk. The authorities stated that they would inspect the beach regularly to ensure orderliness.
