Alleged online gambling website operator arrested in Sa Kaeo with reported turnover of more than 5 million baht

Sa Kaeo –

An alleged online gambling website operator was arrested in the Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo province on Monday, August 1st, with a reported money turnover of about 5 million baht per month.

The raid followed a tip-off indicating that a house in the Baan Mai Nong Sai subdistrict was operating an online gambling and lottery website. There, Thai national Nattapon or Pae, 37, presented himself to the officials, claiming that he was the house owner.

Upon the search of Pae’s bedroom, traces of running an online gambling website called ‘syclub.bet’ with evidence of lottery betting via electronic channels were found.

Pae reportedly admitted to the police that he used to work on an online gambling website in Cambodia before being hired to act as an admin of syclub.bet website following his friend’s recommendation. He reportedly ran an underground lottery system through Line applications with a cash flow of about 5 million baht per month.

Upon the raid, a large number of properties in dispute were confiscated, including computer monitors, iPads, smartphones, book bank accounts, and a cash card. Pae was taken to the police station for further interrogation. Initially, he was charged for arranging illegal gambling and an underground lottery via online platforms.
