According to the deputy, this operation was in accordance with the 2016 Control of Begging Act. The deputy said that he received a good collaboration from the Chonburi Homeless Protection Center that helped him successfully raise this campaign. Initially, the deputy directed two groups of city officials to search for nomads around Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya Second Road and assisted them with documental matters as a first step to integrate them back into society.

“We received a lot of help from all stakeholders. I want to say thank you and that Pattaya officials have never overlooked these people,” Wuttisak stated.

He carried on that every second and fourth Thursday of the month, Pattaya officials will set up a stand at the South Pattaya beach area in front of the Mike shopping mall to give consultants to homeless people and provide basic necessities to them.

The campaign also urged the public not to give money to beggars but to instead urge them to seek the assistance of authorities to reintegrate into society.
