The Royal Gazette on Wednesday, July 13th, published the regulations on the seizure of driving licenses, issued by the Royal Thai Police and the Department of Land Transport, for drivers with aggressive behaviors.

The regulation will be put into effect six months after being announced in the Royal Gazette, or approximately in January 2023.

The regulation will grant Thai authorities the right to seize driving licenses, record the seizure via electronic channels, and temporarily suspend the use of the vehicle for drivers who have psychological challenges or aggressive emotions that could affect the ability to drive.

This also includes drivers that are showing aggressive and bad-tempered behaviors and expressing violent feelings or other behaviors towards others that affect their ability to drive at the time.

This is for the benefit of traffic discipline and to efficiently control incompetent drivers for public safety, the Royal Gazette stated.
