Wind topples tree on two men in Chonburi area, one killed and the other seriously injured

A fierce wind toppled a large tree on two men riding on a motorcycle, killing the passenger and seriously injured the driver.

Thamrasamimaneerat Foundation rescuers responded to an accident report on Bangsaen Sai 4 Road in Chonburi’s Saensuk subdistrict yesterday afternoon, July 13th, 2022.

According to reports, the two victims were seriously injured by a large tree that accidentally fell on them while they were riding on a motorbike.

The first male victim, Phanuwat Gerdyuu, 27, who worked at the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, was rushed to a nearby hospital along with the second male victim, Aim (real name not provided), 27, who also suffered serious injuries. However, Aim passed away at the hospital due to his injuries, according to reports.

Friends of the two victims later told local media that Phanuwat was still alive and in the hospital, receiving treatment. He was Aim’s boyfriend and was returning home with him during a storm before getting crushed by a fallen tree.

The surviving victim is being closely monitored by physicains as of press time.
