Local officials blamed bad weather after the number of tourists arriving at Bali Hai Pier to travel to Koh Larn did not meet their expectations.

Pattaya News reporters reported on Wednesday, July 13th, from the Bali Hai Pier that the number of tourists was unusually low considering today marked the first day of the five-day-long weekend from July 13th to 17th.

According to the Pattaya Marine Department, only 2,503 tourists, mostly Thais, Indians, Korean, and Vietnamese, came to Bali Hai Pier between 6 AM to 12 PM to board a ferry to Koh Larn, which was usually a very popular destination during the long weekend.

The officials at the pier reportedly attributed the lack of tourists to bad weather as it had been raining frequently in Pattaya for the last few days, and the sea was relatively choppy. However, the officials told The Pattaya News reporters that they still had high hopes that more tourists would come during the rest of the weekend as usual.
