“The Match Bangkok Century Cup 2022” praised by Thai government for promoting country’s ‘soft power’

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha praised the organizers of “The Match Bangkok Century Cup 2022” for showing the country’s potential and helping promote the country’s ‘soft power’ in sports.

Government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana revealed today, July 12th, that the Prime Minister praised the professional organizers of “The Match Bangkok Century Cup 2022”, a memorable match of Manchester United and Liverpool, which will take place this evening at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.

“It is a significant event that attracts a large group of people, from local and abroad. It is our first major international event after the government relaxed preventive measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” Thanakorn stated.

He also stressed the government’s core policy of pushing, promoting, and supporting Thailand as a landmark of world-class events, especially international sports competitions, as well as pushing the country’s ‘Soft Power’ in Thai sports, aiming to help boost economic value, promote the tourism industry, and generate domestic income.
