Two Pattaya residents shot, including a 7-year-old child, when two rival groups of teenagers began allegedly firing gunshots at each other over noise dispute

Banglamung –

Two local residents were shot, one including a 7-year-old child, when two groups of teenagers were reportedly fighting and began firing gunshots at one another in front of a garage in the Banglamung District Saturday evening, July 9th.

Banglamung police arrived at the scene at a garage in the Nong Prue Subdistrict after being alerted to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, 7-year-old Nong Moodaeng (Nickname, real name withheld) was slightly injured from a bullet that grazed his neck while his father Panupong was injured from a bullet wound to his right shoulder. Both of them were later transferred to the nearest hospital for a checkup. They had been bystanders to the altercation and not directly involved, according to police.

According to local witnesses, there were a lot of residents outside nearby – both young and old – when the incident occurred. Two groups of teenagers were reportedly quarreling about loud noise when passing the street before they took out firearms and began firing at each other. More than 10 gunshots were allegedly heard, according to the nearby residents.

Additionally, locals also reported that there were a lot of quarrels and loud motorcycle noises coming from the garage. There was once a reported shooting incident in May but no one was injured. Therefore, they would like the police to seriously investigate the incident to prevent reoccurrence.
